Usefullness of Nav Traffic
Do you guys really think the XM NavTraffic is useful? I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that 8 out of 10 times that I'm going 20 mph in typical Bay area traffic I look at my nav and the freeway that I'm on is nice and green. Then when it finally starts flowing the colors turn yellow. I know it's not Infiniti's deal and has to do with the 20 minute delay with the NavTraffic, but it sure seems like a 20 minute delay on something as fast changing as traffic makes it almost irrelevant.
yeah i agree.. i'm in the bay area too.. and the navtraffic is not that "real time"... i think i know there's traffic when i get there but not before so that I can do a detour.. but it's weird that i didn't pay for the subscription and i still have the real-time for over a year now
it may only work the way I want it 1/4 of the time but it certainly is better to have it then not have it. It has saved me from traffic a few times and those few times are worth the subscription in my eyes, even if there is better out there.
Useful and XM LiveTraffic should never be used in the same sentence...ever.
Its pretty accurate in telling me slowdowns in DC but I got it because I want it to find detours...which it doesn't do.
I'm smart enough to know that I won't be moving on the Capital Beltway during rush hour.
Plus it will only "update" traffic on major interstates and freeways, many secondary roads get congessed too in the area and it'll never even pick it up unless theres construction or an accident.

i think the nav traffic thing is cool...but for the most part i think ppl know when the traffic hits...i can see it being helpful on a weekend getaway to the city and not knowing what kind of sporting events or marathons or going on..
