Shark Fin Antenna + Roof Overlays! How To?!

Hello guys so i sent an e-mail to bluebat (andrew) and it looks like i'm getting my black roof overlay. My car is LiquidPlat. However i am not too thrilled about leaving my antenna silver with a black roof. does anyone know how to take off the antenna or how much they go for at infiniti ? i would obviously like a black one or send this one out to get painted since the bluebat overlay doesn't have anything to cover up the antenna instead i have to make the cut.... anyone taken off their shark fin ?

thanks

No plans for a roof overlay myself, but I was curious about this too.....

It depends on how the antenna works...
Is there actually a hole on te roof or does it work by induction over a connector/receiver on the underside.
It may just be mounted with d.sided tape.

If you figure it out, I'm sure others would love to know.

Oh..... lets see those pics when you get her done

do a good search, cause i remember someone a while back got his white fin changed with black and said that they had to pry it off, from the dealership i believe...

(PLZ, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITHOUT CONFIRMATION!!!! OR YOU MAY DAMAGE YOUR PAINT)

I'm curious about removing the shark fin too. I cancelled my satellite radio and have no use for the fin. I'd like to remove it but not if it is going to leave a hole. I've searched but haven't found anything yet.

there will definitely be a hole if u remove the shark..

best advice is to install the overlay and make a cut over the shark fin and then go to a junkyard to get a black fin.. or just spray paint it yourself

Speculation, or do you know for sure?

If it's induction pickup it doesn't need a hole.

Batizcool has a write up on installing my roof Overlay and includes how he made the cut for his antenna. It's alot of work removing the antenna, so you're better off making the cut as you are installing the overlay.
