Finance Rates

Anybody know what kind of financing rates Infinti is currently offering on the G37? If not the 37, what are they offering on the 08 35s if you take the $3000 instead of the 0.9%. That's probably in the same ballpark.

According to Edmunds, Infiniti is currently offering 3.9% APR for 24 and 36 months and 4.9% APR for 48 and 60 months for the 2009 G37 sedans. There is also $1,000 "marketing support" available in lieu of the lower APR. Rates are the same for the 09 coupes except there is no marketing support available.

Wait until October. They will definitely have ridiculous incentives on G37 sedans. They have so many stored at the port that the problem they're having with G35 overstock right now is going to apply to the G37 sedan next fall as well too.

Or, they'll just stop production of the G37 earlier

That will just make the 09 G37 Sedans rare!

In all seriousness though, all of the car manufacturers are going to cut back on production. There's no point building cars if nobody is buying them.

That'd probably hurt Infiniti dealers more than it would hurt consumers.

I believe there is an article on one of the major business publications where it says it would take a year of all manufacturers stopping production to get rid of all the excess inventory.

Obviously, most manufacturers will not stop production completely for an entire year which means there will still be excess inventory come September and October 2009 no matter what.

I don't buy that, last I thought I read was sales in US run about 18 million a year and are only off 3-4 million for 2008, that is not a years worth of inventory. I don't see them having 09 G37s so over stocked next year. Granted that number may continue to fall, but I assume all the manufacturers have already long since begun cutting production to level out the supply, it just may take 6 months to purge the inventory.

I don't think so.

I used to have a different job in the past that had to do with manufacturing, and I learned a lot about supply and demand, and in-stock/on-hand inventory.

Toyota perfected the "just-in-time" business model... so I don't think we'll be in trouble.

Don't kill the messenger. All I'm saying is that I remember reading an article on money.com where an analyst believed that in order to clamp down on overall inventory in the US manufacturers would need to stop production for one year.

Do you mean, July 09? I can't see how they can stop production compleatly. My dealer doesn't seem to have much in stock at all... 08s or 09s...

Yes I meant 09

I started calling around last month looking for a G37S Sedan blue slate with charcoal leather and all the goodies and one doesnt exist (for sale) in the states. I asked about the time frame for ordering and it was confirmed by 2 dealers that production of the 09's is done until at least May and delivery would be a minimum 60 days after that.

It may seems stupid but they cant get rid of thier 08's.

I have to say everyday i feel more blessed (and I dont use that word) to have money in my pocket. The economy went to poo. I contracted a house to be built in Sept and they havent sold another lot since then.. Get the umbrellas out boys

Sounds like you and I are looking for the same car (Journey Sport, Prem, Nav in Slate Blue with Graphite int.). There is one for sale in CA, I found it on cars.com but....I decided against doing anything until after first of the year (or longer).
