TMPS on after changing tires
Well i just got my sedan change out the tires to winter tires. i am running 235 50 18 front and 245 45 18 rear.. but now the tmps is flashing on start up.. im guessing this is not a tire preassure issue as all the tires are inflated to 37psi.. the light flashes 9 times and then stay on.. i was just wondering if anyone has this problem by just changing the tires.. i search 20 threads but it had nothing to do with what i am asking.. most of them are for brand new rims and stuff...thanks guys..

If you changed the tires onto the same stock rims, then that means that the shop probably took out the sensor and put in rubber stems instead, look at the stems and you should be able to tell...
And if the TPMS are still there then they probably took it out of range and now they need to be re-programmed by the dealer...(as far as i have heard)

no the stems are still the tpms one's... i guess they are out of range.. i never found any thread regarding bout this.. wow.. i should have know.. maybe there should be a sticky saying that if anyone changes the tires off the original the car should be in a certain range.. this is something new.. thank kool yaar for replying.. when i get a chance i will bring it to the dealer ship and see how much they cost to reprogram.. thanks again..

NP, i didnt know that myself and the local tire shop mech read this note out of their manual and told me that if i got the TPMS removed, they would need to be within a certain range to be able to work again, but they WERE WRONG!
I got mine reomved and shipped to FL to get them fitted into my new rims, and when they came back it worked without issues.
So the main problem occurs ONLY when the sensors are mixed up, meaning put in the wrong rim, as they are programmed to send signal specifically from each corner
So from now on label the stems before removing so you knwo which corner they belong to, iv done this 3 times now with no issues.

BTW ... having TPMS INSIDE the car (like when transporting a new set of wheels) does not work either. The car will know that the tires are not going round and round while the car is moving and will STILL trigger the warning light.
Also negative on the TPMS being corner specific. The G does not identify pressures at each corner like the M does. Mine are all mixed up and I never get a warning light.
koyoki ... if your pressures are good and those are the same sensors that came off of your car, drive around on them for a while and make sure you get at least to freeway speeds. Sometimes it takes a few miles. If you still have an error light, take it to the dealer. It will be under warranty.

well.. like i said before.. the guy took the potenza out and replace them with the icebears.. im running 235 50 front and 245 45 rear the front is slightly bigger.. not much of a diff anyways.. but he did the tire swap one at a time.. meaning.. he took one rim off at a time.. installed it.. i drive home nothing came out.. then the next day it register that the tmps has a problem.. the light flashes 9 times and stay lid.. this happened before when i had some aftermarket rims on before.. but i am assuming that its something to do with the sensor itself.. something is prob screwed up.. i check all four tires for preassure and its register 36 on all 4 tires.. so i doubt there is any problem with the preassure itself... i guess i have to take it to the dealer.. oh.. kool_yar.. i did the highway thing.. didnt work.. but i remember reading something about if the light flashes 9 times its something to do with the sensor and not the preassure.. if the air is low it will flash 5 times.. something like tat.. thanks for your responses..

I'm having the same problem, took the potenzas off and put new kuhmo excstas (whatever they are called) on.
TPMS light flashes for 1 minute and then goes solid.
The jackweek that installed them scratched 3 wheels, he lost 1 aluminum tire stem cap, installed the front/rear tire on the wrong wheels (left side) didn't put the center cap in the right rear wheel before he installed it and then pushed the cap through scratching the surface of the wheel hole as it looks like he used something to pry it in.
I'm afraid to let them touch it again.
