It does help with the insurance claim though.

Keep your eyes open with local advertisings and ebay and some other online market places. You may end up see them on sale. Than you know what to do. Just make sure you have extra bullets when you go visit the "seller":. LOL

To all that have been violated.....I wish you all the best getting your ride back to normal again. Just a shame to see this happening so often.

I can't see where a wheel lock wouldn't at least be a deterent. If it takes longer to mess with them to remove the wheel, the greater the chance of being seen or heard............I would think they would continue to search for a car with no locks before attempting to jack up the rims trying to get off the locks....

sux you can't have anything remotely nice anymore with out some low life messing with your $hit.

Sorry to hear that bro, been there myself, and yes the locks do help if you have the right ones...

Dont get the ones that have the funny design on the outside as ppl can easily and quietly hammer on a socket on those and open them like any other lug nut, get ones that are close to the oem style with the lock on top of the lug nuts face now when most theives see that they just walk on, as it is much harder to get these off compared to other locks.

On my old car i had two locks on each wheel, and they were able to take everything off except for the macgaurd locks with lock design on top, so they threw the lug nuts on the road and ran, unfortuantley i was not so lucky the next time around as i was waiting for my locks to be shipped they took em...

Where in the car do you hide your wheel lock? Under the carpet, Behind the dash under the driver side foot well, in the trunk?

In the car??? I kept mine in my house. In my room next to the TV. Yea it sucked when I took the car in for service and forgot it, But at least it was not in the car to get taken out and used on the wheels..

Dang! thats crazy! ive never understood how people do this, doesnt the alarm go off? Good luck with insurance, try setting up a surveillance, at one point we were getting jacked on a monthly bases ( Stereos, cd's, speakers, and abandon stolen cars. and no i dont live in a ghetto place i live an a dead end street and people seem to think its easier to get away with stuff there since no traffic. but after i set-up a surveillance at home, completely has stopped if anything only once a year someone else is getting broken into but its down the street not anywhere near the surveillance.

Sucks, hopefully you get a nice check from insurance!

And yes wheel locks only slow them down, but slowing them down may be all you need to do for someone to notice whats going on, you never know!

I say just do what i did, and dump ypur car haha can't get a jack under my car!

Safest thing would be getting an aftermarket alarm with a tilt or shock sensor.
