Stereo Assistance / Advice

I'm thinking of having some equipment installed that I've had laying around:

Car: 2008 G35s Sedan

FOR THE FRONT:

MB Quart Premium
PCE 216
6 1/2 2-way Components

FOR THE REAR:

MB Quart Discus
DSE 216
6 1/2 2-way Components

(2) Diesel Audio
NS - 1.5 Capacitors

JL Audio - 10" W3
Center Console Stealthbox
***This stealthbox was from my old truck so I would just take the sub woofer out of it and have them fab me a box.

JL Audio
Class AB 300/4 Amplifier

JL Audio
Class D 250/1 Amplifier

So my questions are:

1. Will the 6 1/2's fit in the front and rear?

2. I assume I will need a JL Audio "clean sweep" or similar in order to use the stock head unit.

3. Shouls I consider a new battery (red top)?

Thanks for the help.

1)Depends whether you have the BOSE system or not... (Cause front has 10" subs with bose not sure of the base syatem)
2)Yes if you have bose
3)Yes, the OEM batteries as is are quite weak and adding more stress to it would not be advisable, red top should do the trick

Im sure someone will pitch iin better advice on your setup, but do post if you have BOse or not...

I'm not sure a red top would fit in the battery compartment. I tried looking in there a week ago and it sure looks small.

To clarify....yes, I currently have the Bose system.

So will the 6 1/2 component system fit in front and back?

Very nice combination you're considering there. I particularly like MB Quart products and also wonder about replacing the 10" speakers up front with a 6.5" MBQ speaker. Is there a bigger MBQ product that might be a better fit? Has anyone else here replaced their OEM BOSE speakers with an aftermarket application?

Good to know. My yellow top looked way bigger than the oem battery in there. I may have to change mine out now

You don't like the Bose Studio-on-wheels? Most think it's pretty good. Just add a sub to fill out the bottom and and call it a day.

No offense, but the stock system on my 07 Silverado was better. If I raise the volume too much it sounds like the speakers are rattling.

I'm not into big bass or anything like that, but I do like crisp clear music, whether it be hip-hop, rock, ect. Something that sounds crystal clear.

This system in my truck was awesome. You could hear and feel the strings being plucked on a guitar and you really felt the bass and drums in your chest. I had a Kenwood DDX 8017 Double Din DVD, ect also, but I won't be using that in here for obvious reasons.

Still looking to hear if those 6 1/2's will work.

Thanks again.

that rattling is coming from the speaker covers i think...but i do agree with you, an upgrade in sound was a must for me...not too sure about the 6.5"s though just because you have the bose premium audio...i had base package audio so it was an easy install for me, cheaper too since i didn't have to go the jl cleansweep route...just take apart your door panel and look for yourself it shouldn't be too hard
