I no this is an older thread, but thought I'd chime in. I have the same cluster sqeek/rattle when i drive sown the road and hit a bump. I try pushing on and around the cluster to no avail. I also had a rattle in the roof in the back seat, was told there was a loose clip. I do love driving this car, but I'm OCD and cannot stand anything that isn't perfect to me. I'd love either to keep this car or buy another Infiniti and add a super charger with a uprev tune.... My wife would get in and not have to say a word and give me that look. Any married guy here knows what look I'm talking about...

 

My car rattles like a mafakka from my super still suspension setup. lmao

 

Bought my G35 sedan 2 weeks ago today and have had the steering column squeak and driver door rattle since the first week I had the car. 1200 miles on it so far (yea i drive a lot) and its already the worst G I've owned in that respect.

Had an 04 G35 coupe for 2 years that sounded like "maracas", then an 06 G35 coupe for 1 year that was quiet as a church. Had 08 G37 coupe for a year and the only squeak/rattle was coming from the A pillar, which was fixed by Infiniti field test engineer after 2 weeks in the dealership. Other than that, my G37 was flawless in terms of noises, and I put on 22,000 miles in the 14 months I had it (had to have lease assumed due to excess mileage, hence purchasing the G35)

Made app for this Wed to fix the squeaks, so I'll let everyone know.

 

my passenger seat belt makes some sounds

 

G35equipped: take 'er to the dealer (I mean the car !!!lol) - they "fixed" my steering coulmn rattle. According to the work order, they confirmed the rattle in the dash cluster, removed the console and installed nee foam pads....according to the work order. The rattle is gone. Ithink the movement of the dash cluster up & down (which is very cool by keeping the proper angle looking at the dash) has some issues. Try that to see if it helps...

 

I get this weird cracking noise sometimes from the front windshield area. It's really annoying.

 

the motorized steering column unit rattles and squeaks all the time in mine. I have taken it to the dealer twice so far with no success. Its the cluster/dash unit that moves up and down and in and out on startup (i disabled that feature already). The noise is driving me nuts!

I get that too... happens rarely and usually is gone once the car warms up. I there is a TSB for that addresses this problem, but I can't recall the thread where it was posted.

Yeah it happens when it's cold (ie like last night it happened to me when I started it up and drove). If you can find the TSB that would be awesome.

 

It's good and also sad at the same time to hear that other owners have also encountered problems with their G's cheap interior. At least I don't feel alone. There's no excuse for this built quality in a $40K car. My 02 WRX wagon which I traded in for the G which at the time had around 125K miles had a quieter interior.

 

I have a rattle inside my driver side door, gets especially louder when the window is rolled down and I close it...any suggestions to what it might be? I'm thinking something that holds the window...Help me out thanks!

 

My car seems to have developed a VICIOUS rattle in the dash pod area. Fuggin thing is killing me and I may have to take it in to get looked at.
