I just bought a NEW 2008 G35 Sedan with premium and navi, Newbie to the car and this forum. According to XM I have a three month trial which is activated but on the radio in the car I only get 3 Channels. I get channel 0,1, and 247. So is there any way I can get all the channels. Did anyone else have the same problem any help would be Appreciated.

 

call xm or get with ur dealer. Now that they have merged with sirius it is well worth it.

 

That's mean your XM has not been activate.normally to activate you need to call them and give them yur radio ID that apprear on yur XM Radio
1) Park yur car on open spot (no buiding,big tree)
2) Turn yur XM to chanel 1
3) Leave it fr 15 to 20 minute
How long did you bought the car.If it's not over 3 months trial you should be ok.Call XM or contact the dealer to activate.

Like earth0 said, you need to park your car, turn it to accessory, and leave it on XM channel 1 for 15-20 minutes. this gives the necessary time to load all the channels into your car.

 

My dealer did it for me. Before I picked the car up.

 

Hey! Even they said it's activated but if yur XM still doesn't work.It's also meanning still not activated.You need to follow that instruction. It PITA with XM assistant.I had call them like 3 time until igot it connected!
Call them up and re do it again.

 

Or either it is activated but your XM receiver hasn't fully received the activation signal. Call them back to verify whether or not its activated, if they say yes, ask them to resend the activation signal for your car and leave the radio on for 15-20 minutes (be sure you've a clear signal shot at the sky), you'll suddenly get all your channels then.

 

thanks guys I told them to resend it and took about 10 mins to get all the channels

 

Also if you decide you want the service there is a way to get a year for 77 dollars, i think it still works, let the radio expire and tell them that you would like to renew for the 77 dollar deal you saw with one of your friends. Or you can tell them you would rather get HD Radio to save money, unless they can get you the 77 dollar deal your friend got, etc.

It works, but it may have changed after the Sirus merger deal.
