Arrow 12mo / 15k Service... Am I being upsold extras?

Infiniti on the phone said I need the $99 service special for my 12mo / 15k Service. Based on Schedule 2 it looks like I only need to change my oil and have some fluid levels checked as well as several "inspect" this or that lines.

Personally I think it is Bull**** and that to stay under warranty I need to only get an oil change. Can any one verify this?

My driving is pretty low as I travel some and also live close to work. My car is nearly 12 months old (3 weeks from now) and I have 5900 miles. There is NO way my brakes are low nor do I likely need items like the cabin air filer (they charge $99 to swap it extra) replaced. At the 6 month mark (I had 2500 miles at the time) I changed my oil -- all I have had done thus far.

Thoughts? Experience?

As a comparison the oil change is $40 (a little high but I will pay it). The "special" for the 12mo service is $100 and is the following (I have the 08 G35 Sport so my tires can not be rotated):

Replace engine oil
Replace oil pan drain plug washer
Rotate tires (if applicable)
Inspect undercarriage for damage or leaks
Inspect suspension components, drive shaft, and boots.
image Check horn, lights, seat belts, and other safety restraints
Inspect air filter
Replace oil filter
Inspect & adjust front and rear brakes
Check tire pressure and condition
Inspect tie rod ends & steering gear box (if applicable)
Inspect and top off all fluid levels
Check wiper and washers
Road test

i would just go get an oil change. One thing that might need changeing is the air filter. just check it to make sure.

6,000 miles in a year??? I envy you! haha

Personally, I've always used the mile markers for service rather than the month marker because at 12 months the recommended service is assuming you've driven close to 15,000 miles.

I agree with LightsOut, just get an oil change (which should include topping off any other fluids) and check the airfilter

According to the maintainance schedule the inspections are required under schedule 2 at 15k. In fact the 15k service is the first time anything is checked under schedule 2, and the last time until 30k.

edit: or by time intervals in your case.

Yea just change the oil. Most of those maintainance plans are on miles not on years. With the car being so new I would just do the oil change. The cabin filter at 15k no matter what age the car is. Man 6k a year.. I though I was good at 7-8k a year.. LOL You must work close to home like me..

Infiniti Service....?

Get the oil and oil filter changed which is normal. Then I'd have them replace
the intake drop in filter and the cabin filter. Then tell the stealership, "See ya
in 15K miles!" You might consider switching to synthetic oil, it's better for
your car regardless of what Infiniti tells you.

ya i had my car for 18 months just hit 17k miles.. and i got one of these letters also. check all thread rotate inspect bla bla. im thinking all i need is a oil change because i dont really use ac in summer only heat in winter time. and i only used it for one season. and as far as breaks or tires i have aftermarket tires+kn filter just put in. so should i only opt for the oil change. opinions?

I have had my car for 7 months and recently did the 15k service. Spent 350 bucks, went synthetic, the car has never driven this well before. They cleaned throttle bodies, changed air, cabin filters, new wipers etc. etc.

7.5k is an oil change + inspections.

my 7.5 k miles service cost me like 60 bucks. If anybody is in the virginia area and would like their car taken good care of, i would recommend talking to Brennon of Pearson Infiniti. He is an awesome guy.
