The reason I ask was that my recently purchased iTouch doesn't charge on my Bose sound dock. Any experience with this?

 

The 2nd gen iTouch, 3G iPhone, and whatever the latest gen Nanos are do not charge with the older peripherals including the G. Apple changed the way they charge screwing over lots of people.... You can however buy this adapter to use with it.

 

Lame on Apple's part. I LOVE my iTouch but seems stupid to make accesories hard to be compatible. Its what makes the apple products so nice...huge aftermarket support. Thanks for the info. I'll bookmark that page and cough up 30 bucks.

Yeah, I'm not real thrilled with it either. I've owned several iPods, and the thing I liked most about them was that all the peripherals could be reused. I think Apple really dropped the ball on this one.

 

what kind of cable do you need to connect the iphone 3G to the G? thanks.
