Thumbs up

ya the 08 w/ Prem package includes the IPOD connection. it reads the mp3 id tags and playlist etc etc. i dont think its compatible w/ the newest generation ipod/iphones however.

I think someone has posted an adapter that will convert the old "style" to the new style. Also I think I read somewhere where you can order the new style cable from infiniti. (Don't quote me on that)

I have successfully tested my ipod touch (1st gen) on a 08 e35 (loaner from dealer) and it controlled/read all my songs etc... It also charged my ipod.

I have an '08 G35x with Premium (no Nav) and the iPod connector works with both my 2nd gen iPod and my wife's new iPhone. The only difference is that when we connect her iPhone to the cable in the armrest, the iPhone displays a message that the "peripheral is not supported", yet the system recognizes and plays the music and playlists without an issue.

I'm not sure what the newest generation is or when it started, but I got an iPod Touch about 6 months ago and it works with the cable that comes with the premium package.
