New G35 Owner looking for some help, and an answer.

Hi gents,

I'm a proud 2008 g35 owner, just bought mine two days ago.

Before I purchased I found a head unit I really liked and to get the 35 in my price range i sacrificed some options (nav, etc.) I figured the head unit, the Pioneer F90bt would satisfy all my nav/dvd wants and needs. I'm stationed in New Orleans and I wanted to get the radio installed once I went to New York. After calling some places to confirm whether or not they can put the F90 into the 08 g35, I still have not gotten a solid answer. I just want to know whether or not I can install an aftermarket headunit into the 08. If anyone knows or has done this, I'd really appreciate your help. Also, if it is possible, will it void my warranty?

Thank you very much in advance for your time and help.

Unfortunately, you would have had a MUCH easier time if you had a 2006 G Sedan or a 2007 G coupe -- there is an adapter kit including double din fascia/trim piece to make the install seamless.

For the 2007+, all I could find on search is the following:

Doesn't seem like it's possible .. at least not easily.

Would it void your warranty -- well, according the current laws (and they can vary from state to state), generally speaking, the service department must prove that any problem that you may experience in your car (that you're wanting to obtain warranty repair) was DIRECTLY caused by your aftermarket modification. (Magneson-Moss law?)

I think you can just purchase the aftermarket Nav system and use the screen in the G. Just hook it up through the auxiliary input and I think I've heard of using that.
