Angry Worst mod...

Ok so i got one 12" jl w3v3-4 and i thought it would be a good thing to add more bass to our premium system and can i say there is so much rattle in our car that unless you get this whole car dynamatted it sounds terrible. I know this topic has been discussed millions of times but my friends 05 acura doesnt rattle as much as my 08 does and my friend has two jl w3s.. i understand that i would get rattle but definitely didnt think ti would be this much. and guys two questions since im on the topic. one how hard is it to dynamat a car i did a search couldnt really find anything. second whats the difference between a jlw3v3-3 and a jlw3v3-4 is there a difference in quality or which ones better?

dynamat isnt going to help, the rattle is coming from the rear deck lid. put some rubber stopper between the deck lid and rear windshield, problem solved

jlw3v3-3 is 3 ohm
jlw3v3-4 is 4 ohm

If I am not mistaken.....you could always look up the specs on the JL website

the ohm differences in the subwoofers have nothing to do with which one is better or not, it is the resistance of the driver and they just designed them differently to operate better with certain amps. with the JL amps, it doesn't matter what resistance the driver is because the amplifiers are made to adjust...but say you want to get JL drivers but different brand amplifiers, well here is a way to customize your setup depending on the resistance of the amplifier

i did look up those specs it was just a matter of understanding them and when you say rubber stopper is there a specific type where i can get it from. and my trunk rattles like crazy so i doubt that rubber stopper will stop that as well. but as far as the rear deck lid if the rattle at least stops for that i will be a lot more satisfied.

^^

i have the same sub in my car and its my favorite mod so far...the rear deck lid is just a piece of cardboard resting on top of the metal divider between the trunk and cabin...not to mention there is a gaping 10" subwoofer hole if you don't have a premium package...the air being pushed around in the trunk is going to make this flimsy piece of cardboard rattle against the windshield...common sense if you sit in the back seat while the bass is turned up and think about what's going on back there...just get the rubber stoppers in there and the bass is super clear

well first off let me say i have the premium pack if i didnt say it already and i took myc ar to the dealership many times to just get the stock premium system not to rattle alone. secondly even if the back deck lid doesnt rattle the trunk rattles more than any car i have heard alone. not the liscense plate which is weird but the trunk defintely does. i know the metal divider that ur speaking about and that thing sucksss for the bass. lol and i still dont know what u maen by rubber stoppers. u said dynamat so should i go and buy dynamat sheet and just put it back there. doesnt it look weird out of hte back window? lol

How big of a rubber stopper are we talking here? Anyone have a picture? ...sorry if these are dumb questions but I can't visualize stoppers back there.

just turn the sub around so it faces the front of the car
you might lose some bass but way less rattle
hope it helps you out it helped my friend before and he has almost NO rattle with 1 12" Kicker CVR in a altima
