subs are not designed to do vocals.. too high of frequency ... most vocals are between 2-4khz whereas subs are designed usually for 120hz or below..
i just unscrewed my stock sub and unplugged it. i had my shop design the port for my sub to be upwards facing so the port points to the hole left by the removal of the stock sub. i'm using a jl 12w6v2 .. i do get rattle when i crank the bass.. but for non-mirror shaking bass levels... i have no discernable rattle from the drivers seat.. from the outside, i can hear some very minor rattling but its not very noticeable..
obviously if i crank it.. then theres quite a bit more rattling.. i just don't want to dynamat my car since i keep adding weight to the car..
side note: has anyone else noticed reduced handling since installing a sub? it seems to me that i have quite a bit more body roll now that i've put in the ported sub. (i have stock suspension so far) will the underbody bracing/sways help a lot with the body roll?
