Do you need the TPMS?

I got a set of new wheels and the installer said the TPMS weren't able to be put on, so now I have a constant light on. Is there any way to turn it off since I don't have it.

No, you'll have to live with the light. Why couldn't your installer put them into the new wheels?

They said it was something to do with the low profile, but i only have 35 series, and this installer does a lot of custom wheel work. Is there a way to turn off the light if you don't have the TPMS in?

It can be done. I have 30 series in back. It depends on the contour of the barrel. Mine were drilled like this:

But they also make different adapters now.

If there was a fix for the light ... it would have been done a long time ago.

Put your sensors in your spare tire, fill it with Nitrogen and you will never have a light on again.

Won't work ... the BCM must detect sensors in motion. That's why the light does not go off right away after they have been re-filled until the car has been driven.

I also had two of my tires in the car with sensors in them while trying out some new tires and the light still came on.

black electrical tape works well.

I know people got along fine before TPMS, but having the light on in the dash would bug me. I'm sure there has got to be some sort of TPMS sensor that can be made to fit the rims. TPMS isn't an infiniti only thing. It's used in all vehicles made after Sept '08 i beleive

The light doesn't bug me so much, its the alarm that goes off like every 20 min. It lasts like 8 seconds and drills into my head!! Anyone know where the speaker is for it? I wouldn't mind taking it out and shooting it!!!

They're smoking crack. If you want new ones, which I decided to get for my snow tires, you can get a set of 4 for about $320.

Even cheaper used on Ebay.

I don't think TPMS sensors are brand specific. I think they are somewhat universal since it's a Federally mandated sort of thing. If you, you could prob buy any TPMS sensors and use them. I've seen pleny for sub-$100 for 4 units.

I'd check first to see if they are in fact universal. Don't quote me on that.
