7 speed auto downshift too early when coming to a stop?

Downshift too early

It's good to see other people expierencing the downshift issue. Here's a link to other people talking about the issue. Hopefully, there will be a software update that will change the downshift point. Engine breaking is the perfect comparison. I'll take engine breaking in a diesel pickup truck, not my G. The five speed in my 07 G35 sport is fine.

2008 G35 Journey Sedan no sunroof
The car doesn't like to coast. That's one thing American FWD cars do well. You have to learn not to let off the gas abruptly. Wastes gas, but saves brake pads!!!

AGREED. I just picked up my 09 AWD 7AT over the weekend. At higher speeds she coasts fine.

At city speeds the tranny is very much in a hurry to get to those SHORT 1/2/3rd gears...thus..heavy engine braking, poor fuel economy and the occasional jerkyness.
