The first 3 months XM in our cars is free. Now that has expired, I want to extend it. But when i log into the website, enter in my XM id, etc it gives me choices of the service I want. I want to know what was the service they give to us for free for those three months? Or if anyone got a different subscription, how they like it and if its worth it?

 

The subscription in the usual, just the basics. It's worth it if you like not listening to comersals or having to change channles if you drive a lot.

 

Call them instead. Ask for the ZWINBACK promotional deal. $77 for the year (at least it still worked when I renewed a couple months ago).

 

Even if the code doesn't work, call back and tell them you received a card in the mail for a $77-/yr offer. Explain that the crazy wife lost it and they will honor it no questions asked.
I do it every year... never needed a code.

 

If you do a quick search I had started a thread regarding the best of Sirius and traffic as well. I got a 3 month deal for XM, Best of Sirius and traffic for about $12/month. I wasn't able to combine the zwinback discount with Sirius & Traffic though.

Quite a few people responded to that thread so you may want to search for it and it should give you some insight.

Me too..... XM is great. Wish I had it in my G, it's in my wife's CRV. My G35X came with Sirius radio. I wonder if I approach the dealer would they be able to do a swap of radio receivers?? Anyone do this?? Even though they have merged (Sirius is in "serious" financial trouble right now. Should never have paid Howard $220Million. No Wonder this country is in the mess we're in....sorry for the digression), I found that you can't use one service with the other's receiver, not yet anyway...

 

No need to even mention the ZWINBACK, just ask for the $77 a year. They're cool, no need to lie.

They originally wanted to charge me $169 / year for the basci XM service, but when I mentioned that I heard they had a $77 / year offer, the girl put me on hold for a minute and when she came back she said her manager was aware of the offer and approved it, no questions asked. The also offered traffic for an additional $3 / month, but I didn't add that.

 

After the 3 month trial I use the ZWINBACK and got $77 a year afterwards they wanted to charge me full rates. I told them I going to cancel because I could not afford it. She said what if I offer you the same rate as your first year for $77. I told her I could not past that up. Trust me everyone hurting these days they're not going to say no to you.

hey guys- my 3 month trial is due to expire tomorrow. with the recent chapter 11 news and then with Liberty bailing them out temporarily- is it safe to sign a 1 yr ($77 deal) w/ XM now?

 

If you think its safe to buy their stock at 14c a share then its safe to buy the service.

 

Ya go 4 it...77 is cheap what ya got to loose..lol
