Exhaust recomendations

Hey guys, wonderin what the best exhaust i could get on a budget would be. Just want an even deeper sound, but not annoying. Would my best option be to get test pipes? Im in nebraska, so no emissions to worry about. Thanks for all of your help.

I'm in the same boat as you. You will get a lot of responses that will look something like this:

DO A SEARCH

I'm interested to see what people suggest, so I'll be checking back.

ya i know what you mean. I have searched, but i want people's experience with this. Did there G sound better with stock mufflers and more flow, or stock cats and aftermarket mufflers? Want the best combo on a pretty tight budget for an 07 rebuild im doing, will post up pics when we start this week.

I'm looking for power as well, so if i put test pipes on and left stock mufflers, i would gain power and a slight gain in sound? Also is there a test pipe with resonator available for the 07 G35 Sedan?>

Now my next question would be, what brand would be the best, or what are some different brand for these test pipes on a 07 sedan?

I wanted a quality exhaust with a quiet note for regular driving and a sporty note during sprited driving.
I also needed a system with no drone, as I have a long highway commute each day to and from work.

The Fast Intentions Cat-Back system fit the bill perfectly for me.

the exhaust note is virtually non-existant in the G sedan for some reason...a lot of members here have been trying to get the G coupe exhaust note out of the sedans...some members say the high-flow cats will do the trick...i'm guessing the test pipes will do the trick too...berk technology and fast intentions both have their renditions of test pipes available...they come with a warning though, that it might be harder to avoid having the check-engine light come up

there are many different decisions when it comes to the exhaust...you can go axle-back with HKS or tanabe...but if you prefer a cat-back; stillen, borla, and fast intentions has some great kits...you could also go the custom route at a local exhaust shop if you wanna save some cheddar too...good luck

So if i go custom and don't mess with the cats and just go cat back, will the check engine light stay off?

yeah a catback shouldn't do anything to the check engine lights...it's when you mess with the stock cats, you might have to worry about the CEL...i have high-flow cats on my car and had the CEL come on a couple times, but they always came on when i was getting close to my oil change date...i just reset the ECU and bam it's gone...it hasn't come back on after my oil change, so it was probably non-related to the HFC's...

There is a HFCs group buy going on, if you're interested, I heard the FI exhaust is awesome. Depends what you want, If you go cat back you change the sound of the exhaust, i want to keep the nissan VQ sound like the coupe, so i'm gonna keep the mufflers. My friend suggest I find a set of stock coupe mufflers cut them off and weld it onto my exhaust, lol i wonder how that would sound.
