Sedan Sport 6mt Handling
I've had 04 and 06 G35 coupes, as well as a G37 coupe, all 6MT Sport. Now I have the G35S 6MT, coming fresh off the G37S 6MT and let me tell you the difference is very noticeable to me. Lets put it this way:
04 G35 coupe < 06 G35 coupe w/4WAS < 08 G35S sedan < 08 G37S coupe
Not to say this is a slouch, but due to the sedan's larger size (not weight) and suspension, it feels not as responsive as the G37. The G37 hides its weight well, until you really push it, then it can feel like the fatty it truly is.
Can't really go wrong with either car, just drive back to back and make your decision. Thats how I chose the G37 coupe over a 335 a year ago. Numbers tell one thing, but real world driving is another.

- I have no need for a 4 door.
- Which car was more "spirited" to drive?
- I've been told by my cousin and members here on the forum that the coupe is a "fun" car to drive and the sedan is more "convenient".
Much Appreciated,
Thanks again~
BTW - why'd you trade in the G37 for the G35?
I think the differences between the sedan and coupe are for you to decide by driving each. You can get a fun to drive car in both versions. Your definition of which is more spirited is for you to test drive and decide. Heck if the coupe seats/seating position are different from the sedan they may make the experience more spirited.
I drove my brothers 1stGen Coupe sport auto a bit in Florida and Chicago. I think my 08 G35 6MT Sedan has a slightly smoother progression into oversteer coming out of corners. But the 1stGen Coupe would enter the corner on the brakes more neutral while my sedan seems to enter with slight understeer unless I move the wheel more agressively. Some uncertain of the turn in amount due to the variable steering in the sedan I guess. Still the Sedan seems to give me more fun.
I say go with the Sedan if that is what you want. Don't listen to the sedan haters out there
lol. There are those of us out here that love fast sedans. My other cars are EvoVIIIRS(Nothing can match the steering on this one), 95 Dodge Stratus(MT), and a road racing ITA neon(My only 2 door as it comes with the DOHC vs SOHC in the sedan)
I think the late 90's BTCC/ETCC/AustrailianTCC and early 2000's World Challenge Touring Car solidified my love of 4 door cars going fast. I didn't even consider the coupe even though I only have more than one person in my cars maybe once every 4 months(The room comes in handy when I carry my 3 nieces out to eat). The 08 G35 6MT Sedan handles very well and I like the way is looks. I would prefer more oversteer on the brakes but I think some camber on the front tires will cure that or just bumping up to same as rear width tires up front. The steering is intuitive despite the noticeble change in feel as the speed changes. I wish they had a sport button to adjust the rear brake bias and cancel the variable steering feedback. For a luxury sports car it is great.

havent driven my coupe that hard yet but from what i have done id say my 2nd gen sedan feels like it has higher limits, but the body roll is also present and the car tends to sound kind of quiet when your not revving it high...id say wait and get a g37 coupe
