Crazy Swirled Exhaust tips?

Hey guys, I have had my Tanabe exhausts for around a week now, I took my car to the wash and after I sprayed down the tips i realized that they are swirled like crazy!! like totally swirled up, i guess it was the dealership, I told them not to wash my car but i guess they wiped my tips down when they were doing my oil change or something. What can i do? If i polish it then the words on the tip disappear too right? Anything I can use to protect it or something? Thanks!

There certainly is. Either take it to a detailer in your area that you trust and get them to polish your tips or you can choose the safe route and do it yourself(also cheaper). I'd pick up a product from Optimum Car Care Products, it's their new metal polish. I would order off here.

Justins an awesome guy to deal with, he'll make sure you get the right stuff. Tell him xfactor78 from Detailingbliss sent you. The new metal polishes is good for many different metals. Leaves behind a coat of protection too. If you want to get it done proffesionally PM me and I'll see if theres someone near your area that does good work.

It shouldn't, you can either use a clean microfiber towel, a polishing finger pad, or #0000 Steel wool. They should be pretty safe but try using an MF first, if that doesn't work, foam finger pad, then if that doesn't work steel wool should do the trick for sure.

Id say check out Flitz. Its a great product to polish metals, and also invest in a Mothers powerball buffer for something like exhaust tips. Both Flitz and the powerball are also great on rims.

The Mothers powerball won't be much help on exhaust tips. Great on rims though

the guru of cleaning/ car detailing from my car forum recommends you to use this: Master Formula Metal Gloss. he tested it on some aluminum cans and here are the results....and me calling him guru/master/si-fu/sensei of car detailing is a complete understatement. this guy knows his products and cleaning techniques

It'd be pretty hard to get that on the top of the exhaust without hitting the rear bumper imo.

Just use a small piece of that blue 3m tape to cover the etching, then polish the rest.
