Give it some time. The forum is more active during the week.

g35stylez84 Mar 22, 2009 02:39 PM

ohh ok good to know. thanks.. just been a hwile since i posted and dint even get a reply so i just thought it was an inactive forum

It's most active during the week because most people post from work. It's less active on weekends because people are usually out spending time with their families and whatnot.

^ so what's your reason ? :p

I have a Tanabe exhaust on my G35 coupe and I love it.

g35stylez84 Mar 25, 2009 02:30 PM

ok just put it on... looks nice. its quiet tho. almost too quiet... what do u guys think?? needs to break in? its probably a little louder than stock. it is only an axle back but i thought i'd get more sound outta it...

g35stylez84 Mar 25, 2009 07:14 PM

i am getting no love on this forum

i'm confused. is the first photo yours or tanabe's? the featured exhaust in the photo looks good but a few closer shots would be nice to see. also, not sure what we're supposed to "think" of the sound because there's no clip to listen to. if you're saying that it's "probably a little louder than stock" then that's probably a bad sign. if you were going for a more aggressive growl and can barely tell the difference between stock and the new set-up, you might've bought the wrong axle back. in my experience, you can tell the difference immediately and there's very little break-in time required. i put a borla axle-back on my previous ride and it was noticeably louder / more aggressive. night and day between stock.

how about some HI Flo cats...

g35stylez84 Mar 25, 2009 08:24 PM

yes i was thinking to do HFC or custom piping.... i meant "think" as to what i should do... not an opinion on wut it sounded like... sorry for the confusion.. appreciate the help...

should i do universal hfc or specific brand???

g35stylez84 Mar 25, 2009 08:26 PM

Hey man... You will not be disappointed in this exhaust... fitment is geat and it sounds great.. nice and deep, but not too loud. If yo search, there are several threads on this forum that have sound clips of this exhaust on 2007 - 2008 G35 sedans with and without high fow cats. Csquared on here even posted some sund clips recently of his Tanabe exhaust with Berk HFC's and a custom Magnaflow X-Pipe. Here's the thread I started on this exhaust a while back.... there are before and after sound clips with the stock cats at the bottom of the first page.

If you just installed it, it will definitely get louder as it breaks in. Mine definitely got louder after the first several hundred miles, but it is still mild compared to some other aftermarket exhausts. If you really want to up the volume, then you should add a set of Berk Hig Flow Cat (HFC's). That will definitely do the trick.
