i'm confused. is the first photo yours or tanabe's? the featured exhaust in the photo looks good but a few closer shots would be nice to see. also, not sure what we're supposed to "think" of the sound because there's no clip to listen to. if you're saying that it's "probably a little louder than stock" then that's probably a bad sign. if you were going for a more aggressive growl and can barely tell the difference between stock and the new set-up, you might've bought the wrong axle back. in my experience, you can tell the difference immediately and there's very little break-in time required. i put a borla axle-back on my previous ride and it was noticeably louder / more aggressive. night and day between stock.

Hey man... You will not be disappointed in this exhaust... fitment is geat and it sounds great.. nice and deep, but not too loud. If yo search, there are several threads on this forum that have sound clips of this exhaust on 2007 - 2008 G35 sedans with and without high fow cats. Csquared on here even posted some sund clips recently of his Tanabe exhaust with Berk HFC's and a custom Magnaflow X-Pipe. Here's the thread I started on this exhaust a while back.... there are before and after sound clips with the stock cats at the bottom of the first page.

If you just installed it, it will definitely get louder as it breaks in. Mine definitely got louder after the first several hundred miles, but it is still mild compared to some other aftermarket exhausts. If you really want to up the volume, then you should add a set of Berk Hig Flow Cat (HFC's). That will definitely do the trick.
