Someone hit my G35 and of course didn't leave a note. The driver side front panel is dented and scratched and the driver side headlight casing is scratched. I have collision and comprehensive on my car with $500 deductible but I'm guessing it's not going to be worth going through insurance. What do you think I'm looking to have the panel fixed and headlight case replaced? It's a 2008 btw.

I despise people like that.
I hope it comes back around on them ten-fold.
Sorry about the damage.![Frown](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Ya know, when I hit the coyote, I didn't want to invoke my insurance and see my rate go up. I talked to them and they explained that this was not my fault and that my rate would stay the same, so it cost me $500 instead of $4K.
Talk to your insurance company first and see what they say. Sounds like your damage will be more than the deductable, but would only be worth it if your rate doesn't climb for making the claim.

A similar thing happened to me, and even though a bystander wrote down the offender's # & left a note (but not his/her own info). I was able to track the offender but her auto insurance refused to pay for it as the driver lied that she was never there and I had no witness contact information. I was in the same boat re. not wanting to contact my insurance and decided that it wasn't too obvious of a scratch. A few months later, I had to file a claim with Geico after parking in an overnight garage which had a roof leak and caustic fluid ate through my clearcoat causing over $1800 worth of damage. I decided to go through insurance to save myself the hassle of repair facility search and they also promised to reimburse my deductible after resolving the claim with the garage. The body shop also painted the panel that was scratched from the sideswipe, as it was also affected by the leak. Despite my initial apprehension my insurance premium increased by a little over $20 a year. G bodywork can be expensive and I am pretty sure your repair cost would exceed a $500 deductible, but the insurance premium may not necessarily increase much. Talk to your insurance and get their repair estimate.
