SF Bay Area - $80/month from Statefarm for 500k/500k w/500 deductible, but that rate includes my home insurance discount.

anyways i am with gieco and we saved 60/mo coming from AIG, and thats with the deductible going from 1000 to 250.
Unfortunately, this doesn't just happen with State Farm... Every insurance company that I have filed a major claim with (i.e. greater than $1000) have dropped me and my wife... all except for Allstate. We've been dropped by 3 different insurance company's for accident claims, and only one time were we actually at fault.

this is in southern california.
That's very similar to what I py for my 2008 Infiniti G35S Sedan. I pay $1072 / year with a 500 deductable. I'm in SoCal and I've been driving 20 years, but do have a DUI on my record. My rates were lower when we lived in Orange County, but they went up almost 30% when we moved to Corona... 30% and we only moved 15 miles away... crazyness!!

Have you tried Mercury? They are by far the cheapest I've found for my Porsche and G in SoCal.

30%?!? that's crazy

i had Wawanesa Insurance for a long time. I think the rate is fair, especially since i have a speeding ticket in freaking washington state (their speed limit is 5-10mph less than southern cal)

maybe next year i ll shop around.

Yeah.... that's what I said! When my agent first told me that I thought he was kidding... I never realized that your county of residence made such a huge difference in the rates. Apparently the rates are heavily inflated for both L.A. and Riverside counties because of the traffic and accident rates there. Oh well... live and learn.

I agree... Your rate seems very reasonable to me. My rate includes a muti-car discount, plus a discount for having our home owner's insurance through the same agent, so without these dicounts, it'd probably be about the same as yours.
