Noisy/Broken Sunroof Components

I've had the most frustrating noise in my car for the past 3-6 months. Over bumps (usually at lower speeds), there is this annoying and loud metal popping creak sound.

I thought it was somewhere in the backseat area's roof, but I've finally determined it's this black metal piece that resides behind the sunroof. It's some sort of metal frame accessible by hand/eyes from the back of the sunroof area.

Putting pressure on the metal frame makes the sound stop. I've tried to shake it into place or do anything to get the noise to stop, but it seems I've just made it worse.

The metal itself is extremely light-weight and cheap feeling. I can definitely break it pretty easily. I"m not sure what purposes it serves but the whole assembly feels so cheap and I'm not surprised it's making these noises.

I was wondering if anyone else had this fixed via warranty and if so what they said/did to get it fixed. My G35 has remained pretty much rattle free, but this is so grossly bad it really cheapens the car. I have an issue with rattles and creaks in cars. I really want to get this fixed, but I hate dealing with rattles with the dealer since they claim to never hear them.

Anyone got any input?

I sometimes here a faint creaking sound coming from the sunroof when I first pull out of the garage but it soon disappears.
I've been meaning to get in there and look for loose components but haven't gotten to it yet.

Yeah check that black metal piece (runs the whole backside of the sunroof). Mine feels really thin and easily moves and flexes a lot. I'm not sure if it's loose or it's just so thin and cheap it feels super loose. Anyways, it's clearly what's making the noise in my case as if I hold it down while driving my annoying noises stop.

Hmm, I'm not sure if we're having the same problem. Do you know what rubber seal or even where it was. I'll investigate that further.

It has just recently started making a creaking/rattle noise on mine. If I push up making that metal piece flex, I can create the noise. Between that, and my rear deck rattle/buzz I'm anticipating the next rattle to be out of my motorized steering wheel, in fact I think I heard a slight rattle last night out of that area.
Anybody have the steering wheel drop a slight bit after they first start the car? Mine has gone from a very slight drop, to clunking into place over the 19000 mile life of the car.
