sometimes mine kicks in with it off, (usually if i've driving retarded and turn it off while driving). But most of the time when i turn it off right when i start the car, or at a stop, i won't see it kick in. I wonder if that has any effect on it? Though i've broken that back end loose on a few empty roads, i try not to slide b/c tires really get torn up that way....

God I miss living in the northeast. I grew up driving on roads like that in CT. Converted indian trails FTW.

I feel this VDC is completely inferior to the ESP in my old 06 300C Hemi.

When VDC does kick in, it is no where near the refinement of the ESP system. Hell you couldn't even do a burn out (ie. at the track) on brakes because the system kicks in and kills teh throttle.

One of the things i loved about the 300's ESP is that when you disable, it would never fully disable. But it will let you slide out in a controlled drift LOL!!.. Even in teh snow the car will allow you to do a drift out to about 50 degrees but kicks back in to put you back in line.

I just find the traction in the snow in my 07 G35 is really bad (this is with brand new winter tires) compared to my 300 because of the ESP > VDC.

all you have to do the fully disable the VDC is splice a switch into the yaw sensor.

then its fully off. brake stand burns out, etc etc

there is more then one sensor,

+ you will get all kinds of error codes if u switch the wires.

and for brake stands, you have to mess with the brake switch in the RWD automatics.

it won't let you apply throttle if the brake pedal is pressed.

no, its 1 wire to the yaw sensor under the center console.

you get no error codes. you vds, abs and slip light will come on until you restart the car.

but since you know so much, have fun and good luck!

yes one wire to the yaw sensor, but there is more to the VDC then just that sensor.
for instance there is an accelerometer in each B pillar. thats used to detect multiple things such as yaw rate, and side impact collisions.

plus your reference post is for a different car thats 4 years old, and they are talking about unplugging an entire harness, not switching a wire. tho the car is similar, its not the same

when was the last time you did a brake stand in an 07+ sedan ???
which is what the OP has
im really curious to your answer on this one....

the problem with the vdc is that it never completely turns off. and the worst part is that if u touch the brake the car cuts the gas to ur engine which makes it really hard to drift because your not able to properly contol the car. But i had a loaner G ones and i took out a relay from the engine compartment, when i turned the car on my ABS VDC SLIP BRAKE lights went on lol. but vdc stil managed to kick in even though abs and slip were off

can't a module be made where it would switch the VDC off completely without having the Christmas lights go on?

I have heard that a computer reprograming would do it, but that voids your warranty. I tried to find a module but wasnt able to. I am hoping kptechnologies.com would come up with something soon.

Did anybody send an email yet to KPtechnology? They should be able to make one. Maybe another one for the AWD off too. LOL

If I'm not mistaken, if you switch VDC OFF, the traction control feature at any speed still remains LIVE. That's why people see the 'slip" light come on.....I have to try this. I don't typically drive with VDC off. But maybe that's why my rear brake pads are wearing more than the fronts!!!. I've seen comments about that elsewhere here at G35 Driver. The rear brakes are wearing sooner due to VDC controlling application of brakes while driving hard.
