Dark spots/stains on Wheels..... Please help

Last week took my car to a carwash. After coming home I noticed some stains on my wheels. Stains look like dark water spots.

Did this happen to anyone before? Any idea how to get rid of them?

Note: added some pictures below.

Thanks.

IMO its one of 2 things:
1) baked on brake dust(hard to remove but possible with some elbow grease)
2) use of an abrasive detergent/cleaner on the wheels causing discoloration.

If its brake dust you should be able to feel it building out a bit with your finger nails

Its definitely not brake dust or grease. More like discoloration because my wheels are super clean

yup mine did the same after the dealer cleaned them with something. your wheels are fugged.

you can try wet sanding, but probably have to get them refinished if you care that they look new.

before sanding or doing anything that involves refinishing the wheel. try using a claybar with some quick detailer or soap and water, then use a non-abrasive paint polish. i believe our wheels are painted, so any detailing product that is good for your paint/clearcoat is good for your wheels. if that doesnt work, then like everyone else has said, get them refinished if you really want to.

Here are some pictures.

It looks like oil stains but they are not. I tried to clean the wheel by rubbing with a dry cloth but no good.

As you can see my wheels look horrible. Please help........ :-(

Looks like something caustic etched the finish on them.

Looks like some sort of a chemical oxidation.
Did you run your G through a drive thru wash?
Or was it washed by a car wash place?

Whoever cleaned your car must've used some chemical that caused this reaction on your wheels.

Sucks. Good luck w/ the fix man.

This is an unfortunate example of why you never take a car you care about to a car wash. An old heap, yea, but a new car like this, never.

Thank you.

Do you have any idea how much its going to cost to re-finish the wheels?

Looks like they used something that wasn't designed for painted wheels and/or your wheels were hot and they sprayed whatever they used onto the wheels..

Bring it back to the place and see what they'll do for you.
