Which SUV compares to the G35?

I have a G35 sedan - Journey & premium package. I LOVE my car. I love the way it drives, the styling, and the way the motor sounds. My husband is making me trade my car in for a SUV because we just had a second baby. The SUV has to have a third row seat. Will I be happy with the Acura MDX? I can't get anything more expensive than $45k. Suggestions please.

Last I checked the sedans seat 5

MDX is a nice SUV, but why in this economy would you trade for a gas guzzling SUV?

It's more about the trunk space when we travel. Also, we have three dogs, one being a large dog, and we want to take them with us sometimes. That only works with a SUV. Can't put a dog in the trunk of a car no matter how spacious it is!

Well, you could get a used QX and if you don't want to go that big look into the FX. I like that better than the MDX.

Go for the MDX. It's much more practical than a FX, which itself isn't much roomier than a G sedan.

To be honest, I dont think you can compare a SUV's ride to the G but I'm gettin my wife the new Audi Q5 in a couple months. Beautiful SUV inside and out. You might want to take a look at it but Im not sure if it comes with third row seating. MDX is also a real nice option. The only down sight is that I see at least 50 of them everyday. Seems like the most popular SUV these days. Only other one that comes to mind is the FX. I dont think you could go wrong with either 3. Test drive is your best friend.

my wife drives an '08 MDX and i would have to say it's a really nice car (seems a tad more refined than the G). if you fold down the 3rd row of seats, you have plenty of room to haul things back and forth. unfortunately, with the 3rd row up, things are a bit cramped (much like the FX).
the build quality of the MDX is great and that center console will take you a bit to figure out. anyway, if i were you, id definitely go for one.

In that case, I would keep the G and add a used Suburban or Escalade for the big jobs.

We have a member here that traded in his G for a Pathfinder.
He was very happy with it and commented on how much it felt like his G when he was in it, due to similar options and interior.

My wife drives an MDX and with 2 kids, we're pretty happy with it.

FX35 will be my next ride, a bit bigger brother to the G35 Sedan.

Doesn't the MDX only seat 5?

Third row gives 7 seats in total... although you need to know two leprechauns in order to make use of the third row.

The wife wants to look at the FX when we're ready to replace the MDX.
She also loves the Lexus RX, although I feel that they're a tad over-priced.

I agree that the RX is also a nice ride you can't go wrong with it. We checked out both and my wife and I agree that the FX is for us. We are just sitting on the fence waiting for the right time to make the change. No rush since we do LOVE our 07 X

X5? I think they offer a 3rd row on the new ones and obviously will drive well
