Hey guys, I'm going to get 35% tint all around in the next week or so and I was curious whether the tint should cover up the rear brake light in the back windshield or should it be cut around it? Do I need to make a special request one way or the other? Thanks for your help.

 

All I know is my buddy has a coupe and they cut around his.. it looks like crap

 

That is just personal preference. I had them tint between the rear brake light and had to tell them. In Tx, it is not a law to have tint cut around the 3rd BL. 35% tint is light and people will see your light if that is one of your concerns. Mine is 15% and it can still be seen. A reputable tint shop will be able to educate you on the laws in NC.

I requested that they cover it and do not cut it out. I think it looks better covered.

Mine is cut out also, On ALL my other cars it wasn't (b/c i told the guy not to), but on the G, i had the dealership do it, and they said it wasn't legal to have it covering the brake light...

 

the cut out is better received with a more conservative tint. dark tint needs full coverage.
