Another new comparison
Now its online, I heard the 3 won. Its funny, there is the real world and then there is the magazine world. I am not going to read that article, it does not tell me anything that I do not already know. The beauty about the article though is ever since it was published, i have noticed a number of 328i trying to challenge me. I have really been enjoying slaying these guys. LOL. never had so much fun in a while. I would love for CD to keep dishing this stuff out, it makes my drives that much better.
Someone here said the G is the best kept secret of the sports sedan world. articles like this just help this and I want to keep it that way. Fact of the matter is every time you switch off the car, you just wish you didnt have to, so let CD do their job, and we can reap the benefits.

I know people are into power, and I fit that bill also. But the 328I is great driver's car. I drove a 328I and a 335I before I bought my G35Xs. IMO the 328I while not as powerful as the 335I felt better. The 328I felt lighter, more tossable, and was more fun to drive. The braking in the 328I also felt better from the seat of my pants.
I really like the 328I better than the 335I I drove. Both cars were 6MT's with the sport package. In the end I went with Japanese reliability. But if the 328I put around 250HP, like the previous 330I, I would of bought a 328I.
The G's are great cars but IMO too big and too heavy. The 3 series in the perfect size for a sport sedan, like the previous Mazda 6's and the Subaru Legacy's. Everything else is too big too and heavy. Adding all that weight to any car looses the fun to drive factor.
That's why Miata's are so much fun too drive.

It's so ridiculous. Yes, we all get it. The 3 series is a great handling car and has impeccable road manners (and was surprisingly quick considering it's meager power). But lets be real and look beyond "it drives so well". I mean seriously, it has MANUAL seats and FAKE leather. And that's not mentioning all the other features it doesn't have due to lack of premium or any other package for that matter. The G represents a MUCH better overall package than the 328i (335i is a different story). I wouldn't mind if the G37 gets beaten by a 335i, especially if price isn't an issue. But when you compare a stripper 328i and it wins.... ludicrous.
I hate that EVERY article ever written about the Infiniti begins "Hot on the heels of BMW" or some other statement about Infiniti still chasing everything BMW does well.
Oh, and the TL is hideous, the A4 is great looking, I bet it drives very well but it's an even worse value than the 3series - which is pretty bad!
And I don't think I'm being biased. I used to have a 5-series. I'm not 100% Infiniti or BMW fanboy, I'm in the middle

...best part about car mag articles that you neither are required to buy the magazine, nor are you required to read the article, and if you do happen to do either, you're not required to base your purchase on the article you unfortunately read.

I'll take the G
At the track, the Infiniti shamed the Bimmer in every contest except for skidpad (a tie). In acceleration, the chase wasn’t even close, with the G37 ahead by a half-second at 60 mph—5.4 seconds versus 5.9—and leading by 6 mph at the quarter-mile. The G37’s gap was narrower but still significant in the lane change. In braking, its one-foot-out performance from 70 mph—159 feet versus the BMW’s 160—is almost certainly insignificant, but we’ll call that one for the G on the superior detailing of its calipers, finished in glowing satin metallic etched with a subtle Infiniti logo.

Really? But the BMW has something called "manual seats". I haven't seen those in a premium car since I can remember, it must be something extremely fancy....

Wait a minute, G37 0-60 in 5.4s????? forgive my ignorance but I am not reading this article, was this the G37X? CDs initial test had the G37 @ 5.2s and MT had it @ 5s. Also the 328i prior to this article has been consistently clocking 6.1s to 60mph, now its 5.9s?
Interestingly here is the 2006 330i doing 0-60 in 6.2s, from MT

I would take CDs numbers with a pinch of salt.
