My G got a hairlip from a drunk driver

My G is out of commission! A drunk driver took off the entire front end from the front wheels forward.

I was sitting at a flashing red light, waiting for the path to be clear when he came crusiin through. I saw him coming but couldnt do anything about it, I'm just glad he swerved at the last second or I dont think I would be writing this.

I had to tow my car back 190 miles home, too. We were at a wedding out of town. And let me tell you something, the driveshaft DOES NOT COME OUT EASILY on our cars.

UGH, its all so very frustrating!

+1 on that.

I rather pay for the aftermarket parts from my own pocket.

nah....I'm not worried about it. Either it gets fixed the way it should or I get a different car. Easy as that.

Start your car shopping now

It sucks but if you really suffered that extent of damage, the car will never be 100% again.

Just think this way. When you bend a metal and you bent it back next time you try to bend it. It will take much less effort to bend it. You might think it is ok because it ill run great but you won't know how rigid is till you have another accident and that my friend it might be too late. Just something to consider.

Try to tell them you need compensation for all this and because it will have a history you will have a hard time to sell your car and you have to sell it for less. Ask for compensation on that too. Ask for extra warranty on all the thing they work on. Ask what if it won't be 100% like you thought it would be. This might tip it over and they'll end up taking it over from you. Not sure how it works since I never been in your situation in over 20 years driving. For sure I would complaion and complain till they give up.

I laff when some people say if it has a "Bent Frame" car is no good! Granted this is true to a point! Like if your car is hit from the side, or been it in the front from an angle, this will pretty much be beyond repair at most times! But the way uni-Body cars are built now, some frontal areas along with the rear section, are made to crumple when hit! Called "Crumple Zones".

and it's it a front end hit like the OP said it is, then most likely only the front end of the frame is bent, and is made to be cut off, and Re-Welded to factory specs! Not just pulling and getting it close to possible kind of stuff. u would never know what part of the frame they cut off and replaced if u looked in the area!

I work at a Body shop, and see first hand how they completely tear downa front or rear end collison, and cut out floors, frames etc... and put the car back to like factory! paenl gaps and all look factory fresh! and alighments are dead on! so if u ever get into a crash and hear u have a bent frame, at most times it is repairable, but if it's a really hard hit, then it's a tottal! but it's hard to say what the OP not posting any pics! but $9500 worth in damages is not really bad, I seen worse! like a 08 Volvo SC90 SUV< hit a tree avoiding a Dog in the road, and his damages came out to just about $25,000! Now that crazy! LOL.

to OP hope your car get repaired and your back on the road again soon!

I've heard this before and although it's true when the job is done right, it seldom ever is.
I had a car get hit in the front end (the day after I bought it ) that caused severe front end damage and although the shop pulled and straightened everything, and it was never ever the same.
I ended up selling it a year later.
