An Unfortunate Event - Need your Opinion

So my company notified me today that i'll have to relocate to oversea for 3 years. This is not bad, considering i'll be promoted and get a 15% salary increase. Plus, considering today's economy, i think this is an awesome opportunity.

The unfortunate part is that i just bought my 2008 G35 Sedan for only 6 months, with ONLY 2600 miles on it, and I now will have to sell it. Yes. ONLY 2600 miles on it. I am having a really hard time deciding the best price to post for sale at. And i need to sell fast. What do you think?

Obsidian Black, premium package, OEM chrome wheels, 3M tinted windows.

Congratulations on your promotion and raise. You should check with HR to see if they can assist you. The last company I worked for assisted ex-pats with home and car sales or provided some compensation. Good luck!

Why not to take it with you? The money you loosing on the sale would be around the same as the shipping of the car. I think.

You will take a smash selling the car.

For one, it's now "last years" model, considering the G37 sedan is out.
Second, you are eating the depreciation (some say between 3-5k) and not the next buyer.

As far as a sales price, I would think you could reasonably ask KBB excellent condition, although you may not get that price. I would look into shipping the car, personally.

$25,000 is what you'll probably get for it; sadly you won't get much extra if at all for the chrome wheels, and it's premium, no navi -- navi would have helped a bunch.

But, you're taking a huge hit... but I hear ya, career comes first, some $$ losses here and there usually are not as important as keeping the income coming in. Congrats on the promotion.

Where overseas are you going (to consider shipping the vehicle there)? Is it practical to have a car where you will be living?

If you are off for three years, consider shipping like the others said. Where are you going? You may even be able to sell it overseas when you are done with it!

going to Shanghai China. I thought about shipping, but i was told gov't there tax like crazy for imports. A coworker of mine actually shipped her X5 there, but i was told they taxed almost $25K, on top of the $3000 for shipping! Anyway, thanks for all your comments. I'll definitely consider shipping.
