My experience falls within the range of most postings here. At worst 13-14 mpg (New York)city and at best 26-28 mpg unimpeded highway, which I can get if I baby the accelerator.

With time and more miles on the G I've found city mileage improved to 16-18 mpg while highway stayed at 26-28 at best.

I just recently switched to synthetic oil (Amsoil) and found mpg's have slightly improved in both city and highway.

I suppose we all know what the G sport offers with all its heft: power and handling, not outstanding MPG's.

15-16 100% city.
22-24 100% highway above 65mph
25-30 100% highway below 65mph above 50mph

I get 19.5 on my daily commute and don't know highway. I only gun it for the first couple days of a new tank and then drive pretty calm.

Yep. 13-14 in heavy stop and go city traffic is about what I get here in NYC; 25-27 at best on highway being very careful about easing my foot on the throttle.

If I average above 19 in mixed city/hwy I'm okay with that.

I've found turning A/C off makes no difference at all in MPG.

But as a number of posts say, we didn't buy the 6MT for MPGs. We just wanna have fun!

the thing that's weak about the 7at that isn't apparent on the 5at is that fact that drive is well defined. like if you drive city, stop and go will put you ave 17-18.

if you drive highway you'll probably average 26-30

if TS can define each drive mode: economy in D, Fast in DS, i'd be sold.

but yeah either way you don't sit on 330hp and get good mpg... it just isn't how things are done. even if we had DI it only helps the highway, and we're already getting like 27-30 highway. only way to get good economy are the ford/gm motors that have 8 but run on 4 in the city.

but yeah a/c and 6 cylinders make no difference.

i get about 25-27 highway, cruise and a/c always on.

i get about 13 city no a/c windows down. i think it has something to do with the fact i can hear the exhaust alot better with the windows open so im always mashing it to hear her purr/roar haha

I do mostly city driving yet still manage around 19-20 mpg by the end of the tank. When I get on the highway it's usually 25-27, depending upon the conditions and traffic.

It's entirely dependent upon your driving style. Light throttle, shift around 2-2500 rpms, cruise in the highest possible gear, accelerate on declines and hold speed on inclines.

The highest city mpg I got was 24 while attempting my best hypermiling techniques.

I have a 420 mile road trip coming up on tuesday and I'm anxious to see if I can make the entire trip on one tank of gasonline.

I'm calling shenanigans on 20mpg in the city. Well, if that's true, it's definitely a different kind of city driving than I'm faced with.

Congrats to you!

I get that a lot...

The past couple of days, I've been screwing around more than normal so it's a little lower than it would be had I been giving it my usual effort.

However, if you're taking 45 minutes to an hour to go 5.5 miles, yes you are definitely going to have much lower city mpg. Your average mph is probably 5 or less so you're burning up a lot of gasoline just idling sitting waiting to start rolling again and acceleration is what kills it. I drive about 3-4 miles a day on average but only to go get lunch and stuff because I work from home. Our city driving is not bad at all. 35 mph most places with a stoplight only every 1/4 mile or so.

18.8 mpg with 22.8 mph average on current tank.
Fuel economy record around 19+ on every tank.

I just got over 20 (barely) this morning filling up. This was my daily commute. Granted my daily commute in Augusta is nothing like it used to be in Atlanta.

Oh, and with regards to the Maxima. I had the 2000 manual and only got 21.
