2008 G35x - Tire Problem

This is probably a repost but it is an emergency. My mom is currently driving my G35x (i am out of state) and the left tire popped. It is unfixable according to tire shops. I want to purchase just "one/1" tire and put it on. Same style, same size but a different company. Is this okay? Please I need help.

Does this violate any rules in the owners manual? Costco is telling me I need to purchase four brand new tires.

yes it is best to buy new tires. its critical to keep the same tire model. if you dont want to spend that much, i'd buy used tire with same model thats close to the wear w/ the rest of the set.

kregg, you DIDNT disagree w/ me lol.

I would not totally agree, with the X its important to keep diameters within a few percent at all four corners, but that doesnt mean you have to buy four new tires. It is also important to have matched sets (for front and rear). If you had a difference left and right that would be no bueno. So you maybe able to get away with a pair of tires and keep this new pair either to the front or back. One new one may be OK if one of the other three tires has the 80% or more tread, and you get the same tire to match that one (again keep these front or rear and use the other matched set in the other location). If none of your tires have more than 50% tread or so than I'd get 4 new ones. This is just what i would do in your scenerio, so dont take it as gospel.

So for us to give you a more defined response we need the tread depths on the three existing tires. If you dont know how to do that google it, or look at tirerack they probably explain it there.

Costco will want to play it by the book so if you to do something like different tires front and back, they won't do it. They are whimps.

this is an example where you want to do somewhere else.
