New baby in a G

Does anyone have a mirror in their G for a rear facing infant seat. I went to Babies R us and they said most of them went around the rear headrest. Well in an 08 G as you guys know there are no adjustable headrests to go around. Does anyone use a mirror and if so which one would you recommend. Thanks.

I never installed a mirror in the G when the kids were rear facing, but we had one in our MDX that could either strap around the headrest or stand on a rear shelf in the back window. Although it was marketed as a style that wrapped around the head rest, it also had stiff segments that allowed it to stand and was held in place with hook and loop (Velcro)
We bought it at Babies-R-Us... take a closer look at what they have in stock.

I had the one below in my 05 (non-premium) g35 and also in my 08. It has kind of a bendy thing on the back that conforms to the headrest bump. I think I also attached it to the carseat latch behind the headrest. It stayed in place for the most part.

you gotta get one of those baby Recaro's. I feel like having a baby to rock one of those in the G.

we have one similar to the model jayhawk posted up. if you get one with the wire in the mounting straps you can bend it around and get it to work. it's not very solid, though, so once the kid gets old enough to start janking it around, you'll have to come up with something more solid.

i do definitely miss not having the mirror, though. we had a loaner car for about four hours and had the little one with us. just moved the car seat. about drove me crazy looking in the rear view and not being able to see what he was doing.

and yes, this only matters while the carseat is rear facing. technically, you only have to do this for the first year. but, we (my wife) has opted to continue having him ride with us rear facing until he hits the weight limit (35 lbs, i think?). even though, he rides with grandma front facing and likes it much better.

the things we do for safety.....

I got two!

It's funny how much attention they get at meets. Everyone notices them and makes comments on how nice they are.
They do look pretty cool back there.
