Snow mode ... on a 2wd Sport?

I pulled out my cup holder because I was getting ready to install a rocker switch into the blank plate where the snow mode button would normally go and did a quick DIY for future reference:

https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-diy...r-removal.html

While in there, I discoverd the connector for the snow mode button was on the harness. It is the one with the blue tape on it:

Anyone wanna venture to guess what would happen if I put the snow mode button on there?

I'm pretty sure it is the snow mode connector because it fits perfectly into the connector on the snow mode button which I wasted my money buying because I thought would work for my purpose.

You guys may also notice the AUX connector has been pulled out so I could connect to the RCA connectors without the wires dangling out from under the armrest. Two screws hold it in place in the armrest.

to venture a guess...nothing...as you have no AWD computer for the switch to go to.

good idea with relocating the rca's by the way

I'll agree with johnny - seems like all the wiring is there just in case, but the wiring doesn't go anywhere

like buying a house prewired for a sound system, the wiring is there but it doesn't go anywhere without adding the hardware

I don't think it has anything to do with the AWD system, it has to do with ECU timing and God awful throttle response. I say if you have the switch then try it out, it wont hurt anything, it will either work or it wont.

ill go with you on that one,

the snow mode does change the AWD, as it clicks in the fronts from zero to i think 12 mph, to help snow starts, but it also gives u slow throttle response.

so my bet is u would just get the slow throttle and maybe an over sensitive vdc mode,,??

i say try it

this is also very posable.
infiniti prob just makes one wiring harness for the car, and just plugs in what options that car has.

just don't let any smoke out of the wires when ur doing this

If we went with this theory, a lot of us would still be without paddle shifters. The plugs were there, someone tried them and viola, we all have paddles now.

There is a slight possibility that the throttle reduction is programed into the car but needs the switch to activate it. If the program isn't there, I don't see what harm could be caused in testing it.

It would come in handy for those people with RWDs in the regions that get hit with snow.
