I hate trees...part II

Well, some of you may remember a post I put up about two weeks ago titled something like "I hate trees...thank you Progressive". Well, I got my car back last week after it was damaged by a fallen tree branch during a storm.

One week later to the day, it starts raining and a 4 foot/15" circumference branch decides to come down. It hits above the two driver side doors, damaging the top of the car as well as making some decent dents in that space between the doors and the top....on what appears to be "frame", not just body panels.

So, another nice expensive fix within two weeks caused by trees and rain. I'm moving!

Definitely moving.

Depending on the cost to fix/possibility of insurance rising, this could very well be the shortest time I've ever owned a car, i.e. 3 months (I doubt I'll actually sell the car/get rid of it because of this though). Of course, depending on what my insurance company says, there may be some fault that lies with my landlord.

And hence, that's why I can't cut the tree down. A) it's huge B) it's not my property; I rent and C) did I mention it's huge and I'm only a renter?

Well, hopefully, I find out soon what the situation is...

Sorry to hear that. AGAIN.
I would sell the car and put downpayment on a house. Live in your own. Don't make somebody else rich.

wow talk about bad luck.... i hope everything works out and IF i am not wrong this kind of damages is covered under comprehensive part and insurance doe snot go high if there is no other vehicle or property damage involved. Someone correct me if i'm wrong but i had hood damage on my previous car due to a tree branch(big tree branch) and it was covered without my ins. going up.

True, it should be covered, but I asked last time and they stated insurance rates aren't typically affected by comp claims unless there are a lot in a short time span.

My question is "is two a lot in two weeks"? I doubt it, but the dollar amount might be. However, just got off the phone with Progressive and they seemed to think it wouldn't be a problem (rate wise). I'm going to take it in on Monday and I'm assuming I'll find out shortly thereafter the cost (to Progressive at least).
