WTF my car battery died after 1 week of no driving.

I went on a little vacation for 7 days. When I come back to my car it's completely dead. Luckily for me there was a tow truck guy that was able to give me a jump but c'mon, after one week? Everything was turned off. I have a POS ford that sits there for months and it turns on just fine.

What year is your G? I have a 03 and just changed the battery this year (2009) I'm guessing it was due. but i will never keep a battery in my ride that long ever again.

Stock batteries are generally crap.

If you don't drive much prior to parking it, it will die. Also, if you don't drive it where the alternator charges the battery (meaning driving around town, etc), it will die.

My 2007 has been doing this since new. Dealer can find no problem. they even replace the battery. For me, it mostly happens in the cold season although as little as 5 days and the car will not have enough power to start. I hope the new battery solves your woes. Somehow, I think a power draw is to blame.

I have an 07 also and this is my third battery. I have not had any problems since December but I used to keep my phone charger plugged in all the time but since I unplug it I have had no problems.

Some people have had troubles with battery failures on their 2nd Gens. I had no problems with my 07, on one occassion I left it for 5 weeks parked outside in below freezing temps and it started right up.

thats the number one killer of batteries at our dealerships.. people just let there car sit and dont ever drive it or turn it on and thats what happens. you need to take it on a long drive every once in awhile.
