Did any of you adjust your headlights after dropping?

Always wanted to do it, but I haven't had a chance. The FSM said to hook up to CONSULT to adjust self leveling headlights.

Thank, Terry. I take it since you want to do it, the difference in output is noticeable? If so, is it that bad?
I was about to drop the car but won't be able to adjust the lights for a while. I also drive on some pretty dark roads on a daily basis so it's a bit disconcerting.

But then again, urban/suburban Los Angeles and Orange County is pretty well lit.
You can also manually adjust them up using the adjustment screws, but I believe that would reduce the range of motion on the self leveling feature.

So, you're saying the AFS switch doesn't completely turn off AFS? I understood that it would, based on the FSM.
• AFS (ACTIVE ADAPTIVE FRONT-LIGHTING SYSTEM) is controlled by AFS control unit.
• AFS has AFS control (swivel control) and the headlamp auto aiming control.
- AFS control swivels the headlamp to the steering direction.
- Headlamp auto aiming control moves the headlamp light axis up/down according to the vehicle height.
• AFS has AFS control (swivel control) and the headlamp auto aiming control.
- AFS control swivels the headlamp to the steering direction.

Headlamp Auto Aiming Control Description
• Headlamp auto aiming control controls the headlamp light axis height appropriately according to the vehicle
height.
• AFS control unit detects the vehicle condition necessary for headlamp auto aiming control with the following
signals.
- Height sensor signal
- Engine speed signal (received from ECM with CAN communication)
- Low beam status signal and high beam status signal (received from IPDM E/R with CAN communication)
- Vehicle speed signal (received from unified meter and A/C amp. with CAN communication)
• When the operation conditions are satisfied, AFS control unit transmits the aiming motor drive signal for
adjusting the headlamp axis height.
• Headlamp auto aiming control controls the headlamp light axis height appropriately according to the vehicle
height.
• AFS control unit detects the vehicle condition necessary for headlamp auto aiming control with the following

If that is true, than lowering my car had minimal affect on my lights. Maybe the AFS switch locks the headlight level position at what ever they are currently at?
I'll have to play around with it some more at night to see if the switch really makes a difference.
