Spoiler install problem... need advice

I hope someone can provide insight and/or help with my dilemma.

I was installing the trunk spoiler and everything went well until the final installation step.

Basically, i laid the spoiler down, double-sided tape and RTV Silicone Adhesive already in place, but it laid down off by a fraction of an inch. It's not visibly noticeable, but it is off enough that i can't get a screw in on the passenger side. I also, admittedly, dropped the other screw on the driver side -- i don't know where it went and i don't hear it rattling either.

So here are my questions:
- With the double-sided tape, and the RTV Silicone Adhesive, will the spoiler be secure enough? I can't even pull the thing off now.

- Anybody knows of a "snake-like" magnetic reach tool? I'm going to try and fish that screw out of there.

Thank you, all!

FYI. Here's the spoiler, it lays flat on the trunk so i'm hoping any type of down-force will just keep the spoiler down rather than tear it off at speed.

haha, yeah i dropped my lug nut down there too for my trunk chrome lid. I just slammed the trunk down and luckily got it to fall out one of the trunk holes.

It doesn't look too bad. What does the driver side look like, got a picture?

Thanks guys. The fitment/placement is pretty good, i'm just concerned about how well the double-sided tape + RTV Silicone will hold it down without the screws in place.

I have a pic of it installed, will post it up soon.

Got more pics Mike?
I think it looks good in that one shot.

I don't think you'll have any issues. There's quite a few people running lip spoilers on double-sided tape alone so you should be good.

*whew* that's a bit of a relief. I was really worried. Went up to 80mph for periods of time today and i'm happy to say that thing is certainly stuck on the trunk. Got a bit of rain as well, i just hope i put enough silicone to keep the water out.

I posted a couple of new pictures in the Media Share section.

Looks good.

So, let me get this straight.... you drilled the holes and then didn't use them? LOL

I would cut it off using Spectra and put it on correctly to be on the safe side. Even if it comes off and you are not concerned about the lose you may want to consider the liability if it hits another car.

a good double sided tape is more than enough to hold it down.

A high quality kite line or fishing line which is very strong and very slick. Don't use Kevlar line as it can easily scratch your finish.

I think in the case of fishing line it may go by a brand name similar to 'Spider Line'. Just make sure it is Spectra.

Thanks. That's good to know. In the industry i'm in, that's a kind of board.

I'm heading out to the track on Sunday, weather-permitting, we'll see how well the spoiler holds at those speeds.
