Removing Black Plastic Panels in Front Bumper

I installed a short ram intake on my 2008 G35x and want to extend it so that the cone filters sit right behind the black plastic panels in the front bumper.

The plan is to take out the black plastic panels so that the air filters have fresh air.

The problem is that I have my adaptive cruise control sensor behind one of the panels. I don't know if you can take out the panel without having to remove the sensor too.

Any advice is appreciated.

I think the black plastic is built into the bumper, so you'll have to cut it out.

^+1 someone actually drilled and used a dremel to cut holes into the stock plastic inlets as it is a part of the bumper and cant simply be removed they have to be cut out.

If you end up drilling be careful on the passenger side to not drill into the windshield washer bottle.

just take off the bumper and do what you need to do. If it was me, I'd cut out the whole thing with a dremel and place some heavy black mesh.

I'd also be very careful with how low you go with these filters.
You do not want any water getting into those!

you also need to take into thought the Mass airflow sensors. i believe it does make a difference where it is positioned on the tube.
