Yeah, and technically speaking, everything mechanical has a break in period. Try to keep the max engine rpm under 4000 for the first 1000 miles. That should be sufficient.

Take it easy for a couple of k miles in every way, and change your oil and filter early on the first time would be my recommendation. For example if you are on the 5 k change, do the first at 2500, do the second on schedule.

aha yes,
is it a lease? if it is i would just say drive it.
the engines are built well, and there are many schools of thought on this.

i know some people who take the 350Z with 5 miles on it and slap it on a dyno, beat the hell out of it to break it in with a 25 mile run on the dyno, and the car runs fine for 160k miles.

then other people baby the car for the first 4000 miles, and they get the same result.

just drive it. and change ur oil early

I did not brake in my last 4 new cars and had no issue with any of them.

I had the best break in period. I just didn't own it for the first 25k miles.

Just keep the cruise control off and the revs under 4k and you're good to go.
Keeping the revs under 4k is pretty tough to do though, especially if you're taking friends for their first "G" ride

Vary the engine speed as much as you can, as often as you can the first 1000 miles, as a minimum. If you have the X Sport, use the paddle shifters and downshift when slowing down. If you have the 6spd MT, downshift when slowing down.

I used my paddle shifters exclusively the first 5-7K miles, if my memory is correct.
