Unhappy Blacking out chrome trim

Has anyone blacked out the chrome trim around the windows or the chrome spoiler on trunk? If so how? I was thinking about just taking the chrome trim off but not sure if it would look crappy if i did that. Any info. is greatly appreciated.

Paint or vinyl are your two choices. It'll look fugged if you take it off entirely.

this sounds ghetto. but...

take liquid plumber and soak the chrome in it. wash it off and it will strip the chrome off. then scuff, primer, paint

Well I've bought Glossy Black Vinyl, I haven't installed it yet but I think it was Wes888 or Denishot that have done it with the same vinyl. I bought mine from another forum, can't remember if it was an Infiniti forum or somewhere else, but here's his e-mail if you want to ask him: sales@karbonwerke.com

Yeah, I put vinyl over the door trim. It's a pain in the *** to do but it looks a million times better, it's worth the hassle.

My friend did it to his car too.
