Learning Algorithm - how long to relearn?

After getting my car back from the dealership for some repairs needed...my car doesn't drive the same.
I know IT's NOT ME, I can feel the difference. I called the dealership and they informed me that the car has an EPROM that learns how you drive and adjusts the throttle and tranny, and when the battery is disconnected the chip is reset to factory defaults.
Is this true? and if so how long to relearn? I loved the way it drove before.

It is true. However not sure what repair was done and Did they apply the TSB for sensitive throttle? It sounds like they did. What is the different in term of drive? Riding ,acceleration, cornering? Are you missing the neck snapping(no better term) response from the throttle?

YES!!! neck snaping is a good way to describe it.
I called them and they did nothing but the power seat issue and the two missing screen option in the convienence option.
drive is still fast but without the throttle being as sensitive...
I just hope that it's not going to take months for it to get back to the way it was. But then again will I notice it? Will it be gradual?

Make sure they didn't turn on snow mode when they were cleaning the interior. That happened to me once and I about got run over on the highway because the car wouldn't respond like I was expecting (i.e. it didn't move).

It shouldn't take too long. Just drive it hard for awhile and it should be back soon. Maybe a day or 2.

Glad they did not apply the software. I think onved it is applied you can't go back.

No I dont' think they did, they only fixed what I brought it in for....are you kidding the dealers doing more work than they have too?
So if they did this TSB for the throttle you can't go back?

I'm not saying that its awful the way it is....but I just noticed a difference. I'm glad it's only a learning thing and that's it.

to make a long story short, came out of work found my seat all pushed up, and the driver seat not working, the side mirrors not working and in the convience menu, the lift steering and push seat back menus were missing.
all this due to a faulty doohicky that controls the seat.
and this took them 5 working days to fix!

the relearning can take just a few mins if done by a tech. a tech did that to my car, basically drove at high rpms, n it made it more sensitive.

but just drive at higher rpms using the 'manual' mode and the car should be more responsive next time you drive in D or DS.

OH so the trick is to drive in Manual mode eh? Ok I'll give it a try and see how it goes.
Thanks matador.
