Back to the Dealer for a re-FIX
and they're footing the bill for the Rental...it's not one of their vehicles as a loner.
So infiniti canada is paying for me to boot around in a Nissan Rouge...doesn't compare to the X-Trail I use to have.
I just hope they can fix this problem...would like to see what would happen if this happens a third time.

Ok a recap...just got off the phone with the service department manager and he tells me they still don't know what the issue is with my car.
Why the seat mechanism is shorting out...I brought my car in October 23 in the afternoon.

just an update....going on week 3 of my baby in the shop....still no word on where the problem is or when it's going to be fixed.
Went in on Saturday to drop off my winter tires for them to put on and saw how they have taken my center console and under the steering wheel dash apart.
I can see all the wires and connectors hanging down.
I asked the question "what if you can't fix it?" He told me that's not an issue, he is confident they can fix it...just a matter of finding which wire is shorting things out.
Well it's their dime: paying for a rental, technicians time working on my car...he told me they're losing money on this, so it's in their best interest to get my car fixed fast.
I JUST WANT MY BABY BACK!

Might be on their dime, but I still would expect them to work at getting my car back to me as quickly as possible. The service manager told me that they're losing money on my car, but they will do what ever it takes to get it fixed.
The only thing I find hard to believe is that when they looked up the VIN # and they found that the heater core was replaced the code came up that it WAS a dealership but they don't know which dealer.
How is that possible. I find that hard to believe that you cannot follow a paper trail where the car was serviced?
If Wal-Mart can tell me what store a product was purchased from by looking at the bill you mean to tell me this dealership can't find who did the work to my car?
I have a feeling it was the same dealership that my car was brought to that did the work and they know it. Just a feeling. After all there are only four within a 50km radius of each other.

They are losing money on it for sure. They get a fix rate on each job from Infiniti. If they fix it faster they still get the same money or if they take their sweet time. In this case they are losing big time. Glad they step up and try to fix it.
As far as a shops downtime if a shop has work for 9 workers one day and you have a car like this in then the 10th worker works on it. If the shop has work for all 10 then the 10th worker may work on something else. Even if the warranty work is paid at less than what the shop's expenses are it offsets their lose. Instead of an hourly lose of maybe $50 for the extra worker it cuts it down to maybe $25. When my car was in the last time it was there for over 12 days with another 4 days prior for the same issue. Total time charged to the job was under 8 hours so they must have worked on it for about 1/2 hour for each day it was at the dealer.
Problem right now is that this car is in pieces and the rule of thumb is not to complain to a mechanic about how slow they are when they still have to put your car back together.
on no pfarmer I'm not complaining....why would I give them **** when they're fixing my car? They didn't cause the problem (unless it was their dealership that did the shoddy work that caused my problem), I'm am getting frustrated at not having my car.
Also that i'm not driving an infiniti as a courtesy car!

Today is the 3rd week my car has been in the shop. I spoke to the service manger and he told me that it will be another 2-3 weeks because they have to order a part that has to come from Japan.
What they're doing is replacing the whole wiring harness....he said trying to find the faulty wire is like looking for a needle in the haystack...so I'm just going to replace the haystack.
I cant believe that they didn't order this from the begining....so i'm going on Saturday to get rid of my rental car and they're giving me a loner infiniti. I have been driving around in a Nissan Rogue this whole time. Not as nice as my XTrail was.
I hope i get my car by Christmas Time....I forgot how my car drives.!!!!!!!!

They lent me a 2009 G37X....feels like my 07 G35X...the only difference I noticed was the 6th & 7th gear, othere than that feel like mine....from what I remember mine to feel....LOL.
At least the 3week wait for my part wont be as bad now.

6 weeks now that my car has been in the shop....spoke to the service manager and he told me my part is coming and he is expecting it sometime early next week.
He figures about 1-2 days to install depending on how busy his shop is, so he thinks I should get my car around the week of 7th of December......IF that fixes my problem.
what car did I buy...anyone know? I forgot! LOL

Especially today, I was out during lunch on the highway and there was this dump truck in front of me and guess what was coming off its wheels?.....yes chunks of dirt and rocks...and of course one hit my windshield and the top of the car.
It left a mark...glad it wasn't my car.
As for the mileage I don't put that much on my cars...my concern now is what if they put this new wire harness in and my problem is still there.
What will they do then?
