Newbie Question: Tilting Mirrors?

Hey guys. I was trying to figure out if our cars have tilting mirrors (when you are in reverse the mirrors tilt down to show the curb)? If it does, how do I engage it?

No they dont.
I use driver memory 2, and i promgrammed the mirros down in that setting. Only thing is you have to shift it into park to switch between memory 1 & 2.

That is pretty slick Igor.... I think KPtechnologies sells a module that adds the tilting mirrors in reverse. I am pretty sure i have seen that around and some ppl have it in their mod list..... look KP up if Igor's fix isnt enuff....

yeah, does sound like a little bit of a pain, but if it reduces the chance of rashing a wheel then its prolly worth it.... I know I feel SOOOO much safer in my car knowing that I can't accidentally change to another memorized position without putting it in park first haha

^ I agree. Had it on the BMW; turned it off.

It probably is handy if you parallel park a lot though,
...you get a clear view of your wheels being curbed.

I have it on my other car and I am not sure I like it. For one thing it doesn't always work but there maybe a reason for that.

One of the issues is that your mirror can be damaged in freezing weather (which may be why mine don't work all the time, maybe automatically stops operating). A second issue, especially with trying to add them to a car that does not have them is that often they work on a time factor rather than stepping them to a limit and returning to the exact location where they were set.

My wife's '09 Honda Pilot has that feature along with the reverse camera and bumper sensors. Anyway, we both prefer to not use the tilting mirror...just don't like it at all. But we're lucky enough to park in a garage, not on the street, maybe that's the difference.

I did what Igor did and had to change it around at the first winter for ther same reason what Pfarmer says,. At winter it was pure ice around my mirror and it was keep popping as it was trying to go lower.

Our MDX has a tilting mirror on the passenger side and I like it. I don't use seat memories for my mirrors though.
Memory position 1 is for my normal driving position and Memory position 2 is for when I'm in the car with a winter jacket on, as it completely changes my position in the car.
I hate the winter
