Hi,

I recently bought an 07 G35 sedan and was wondering are the doors supposed to lock automatically when starting the car?

Nope. But you canget a module for it. I personally like it without it. I believe it is an option you can turn on/off on the G37.

I wish it was like my other car which locks at 16 mph. I think the 09 may now have this as an option as well. I too would not want it to lock as soon as I start the car but after a certain speed there really are few reasons not to.

I was wondering the same thing...I have an 07 and it doesn't do this.
But I noticed when I got a loner 09 for the day it did this.
Do the 08's have this feature, anyone know?

Only 2009 and later has this feature. It is locked automatically when the speed is at least 15MPH. It will be unlocked automatically when you turn off the car, not when you put to park.

The feature is very good but I hate that it unlocks all doors when you turn off the car. I think it should have a memory that only unlock doors that we unlock before we get in the car.

I think this depends on where you live. In my area when I am in town at a light, I would rather have it be a pain for me to get out of the car then easy for the crook to get in.

I almost wish some of you would get car jacked so you could see the importance of locking your f-ing doors when you start driving. That 1 extra second you gain by not having to hit the unlock button isnt worth your car or even your life... idiots

Also remember it will never happen to you, only "the other guy"

My car auto-locks when turned on and auto-unlocks when turned off?

Eh? Does my 07 not suppose to have this feature? I'm confused....
