I think this may well end up as a warranty issue. It most likely is not the same as the Nissan branded fluids. Regardless if it has the same characteristics you may want to read the manual.

The following is from an 08 manual and noticed that compared to the wording of other fluids such as oil it contains a warning about your warranty. In other places it also includes the word 'required' rather than 'recommended':

'Use only Genuine NISSAN Matic J ATF. Do not
mix with other fluids.

Using automatic transmission fluid other
than Genuine NISSAN Matic J ATF will cause
deterioration in driveability and automatic
transmission durability, and may damage
the automatic transmission, which is not
covered by the INFINITI new vehicle limited
warranty.'

Note that Nissan has replaced Matic J with Matic S as a requirement but you would most likely be ok with either.

In this area I would recommend either leaving it alone (unless you have some reason to do otherwise (mileage) or change it out with the Nissan product so as to make sure you keep your warranty intact.

Rather than just believing everything the company selling you on their "Super-Duper-GeeWizz-compatible-with-every-transmission-type-known-to-mankind" product says, I'd still want to be sure it was approved by the company that built your transmission.
