Saw a 2010 G37x today.
You can see them in the pic as those raised circles on the bumper. On my 3, those are inset so they look cleaner than the new G.
If that wood trim was what they were using in 07, I would have stayed with the washi.
The shiny wood looks like crap.
I kinda liked the looks of the front end in the early sneak photos, but I don't care for it at all now that I've seen real pics of real cars.
I'm hapy with my 07, thank you very much!

JMO, but wood is for furniture, hockey sticks & baseball bats, not cars.
That said, I have to agree, that glossy stuff is blech... :barf:
The natural look of the pre-facelift is MUCH nicer.

- I don't care much for the new look of the 2010 G sedan (front). The front end just looks too busy with the separate fogs. I prefer the cleaner look of the integrated fogs.
It seems to me that they make these changes just for the sake of change. Just trying to keep the designers busy or something. To me, if it's not a significant change as an improvement to a prior design flaw then why alter the lines of the vehicle. Changing for better quality interior materials is fine, IMO, but just improve the material without changing the lines.
To any non G35/37 owner, the differences in the 2010 from 2007 will not even be noticed. They might notice the fogs but would probably assume it is simply an option on all G's.
All these changes don't do anything to really make the car 'better' so why change parts and make production costs higher only to pass the increase on to the buyer when you could keep the car the same (5-6 years) thus allowing manufacturing cost to gradually come down and pass THAT on to the buyer.

The only reason I can think of, is to raise media awareness & get some new coverage to boost sales.
How much really has it changed from the start to the 10? MSN says;
The G Sedan is Infiniti’s near-luxury sport sedan that debuted in early 2002 as a 2003 model. For 2007 an all-new second-generation G sedan debuted with a restyled look that continues on the original design featuring sculpted grille blades and iconic headlights and taillights complementing its athletic stance. Available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, the new G has an enhanced platform, redesigned suspension and an upgraded engine. The 2009 Infiniti G Sedan is powered by a new 328-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine combined with a new 7-speed automatic transmission with Downshift Rev Matching, Drive Sport mode and Adaptive Shift Control (ASC). A 6-speed manual transmission is also offered. New additions include available sport brakes with 4-piston front calipers and 14-inch front discs, new 18-inch wheels and standard Scratch Shield paint. Interior changes include revised interior trim, softer touch lower door panels, brighter aluminum trim color and redesigned seat heater switches.

The way I am looking at this is: Does the 2010 look bad? The answer there for me is it does not. The interior for me is a game changer more than the exteriror. As long as it does not look like a TL or Aztek from the outside I am game. Now the interiror updates are pretty good especially if the leather has been updated as well. I have always felt my 08 Nav Screen graphics and colors needed help. I have also advocated for the EX type of interior and always noticed there was too much plastic from the ashtray to the seat heater buttons of the center console (In the 2010 there is wood). I have also always wanted the rear sensors, I dont need them since I have the back up camera but more like want them (Luxury = Wants not Needs). Add on the rain sensing wipers in the tech package and my wants are almost complete
So to me personally, the 2010 was the right way to go and in any case my lease is about to end. Stepping into an 09 would have been underwhelming as the only change there was the additional horses which dont do much in the real world and as I am more into interiors just those little dials for the heating did nothing for me.

I couldn't agree more....one reason I didn't pick up an M35....I just can't get over the wood trim.
