My point is, coupes are viewed as sport cars and sedans are viewed as family cars. Sports car buyers don't think about fuel efficiency as much. just a general view of things, not specifically for the G

I do have a feeling the 2.5 will be much more fun to drive around town given a Turbo's propensity for full-TQ at lower rpms that stick for most of the rev range.
Plus, again, it's a Turbo. It'll be much easier to coax more power out of it at a given $ amount than it will be to do the same amount of power increases on the 3.5/3.7.

That's true, but overall I think this is a great move by Infiniti. I am not sure what the exact sales figures are, but I am guessing the IS250 outsells the IS350 by a significant margin. I know that I've seen way more IS250s on the streets than I do IS350s. I think this will be a great seller for Infiniti. I am sure that sales figures (of the IS250, 325i, and C250) would indicate that the majority of cars buyers don't need or want to pay for 300+ HP.

+1 I think it is a smart move, now a days many people are looking for a fuel efficient car with some great looks to boot. Plus i'm sure that the turbo will make many tuners very happy. Personally, I will be more excited when they pull out a G that is on par with the M3, C63 AMG, IS-F and so forth.
